Dual Enrollment & PG Program
DUAL ENROLLMENT
College Courses for Seniors
Seniors may be permitted to take a maximum of two college courses to fulfill Lovell Academy graduation requirements. The school counselor is available to work with students to determine the possible options for college courses. Dual enrollment classes will be allotted a Lovell Academy study hall time in order to provide those students time during the school day to work on these courses. Students in these courses will be expected to manage their own time and assignments. Students will be encouraged to take asynchronous online classes so as to avoid scheduling conflicts. A student who is interested in a synchronous course should choose a course that meets during the evening study hall period.
Students must take the equivalent of 6 courses; 4 Lovell Academy based courses and 2 college courses per semester, or 5 Lovell Academy courses and 1 college course per semester.
All grades for dual enrollment classes will be issued from the college or university and will be listed on the Lovell Academy transcript as such. Dual Enrollment classes are worth 3 credits.
Dual Enrollment courses are not included in Lovell Academy tuition for Lovell Academy seniors.
PG PROGRAM
Partnership with Quincy College
Lovell Academy’s post-graduate program offers student-athletes the opportunity to receive an excellent education while continuing to develop athletically. The post-graduate program is a unique opportunity to enhance the student athlete’s overall academic and athletic standing with Junior and college programs.
Every student-athlete’s athletic, academic and career goals are different. Lovell Academy faculty and faculty from our partner college(s) work diligently with the students to make sure their academic needs are met. Our goal is to prepare our student-athletes to play at the highest possible level, to find the right college or university academically and athletically, and to continue their education while participating in a high-performance hockey program.
COSTS
Tuition, fees, room, and board adhere to Lovell Academy rates.
GRADES
Course grades are issued from the college and will be listed on the Lovell Academy transcript.
SCHEDULE
Lovell Academy post-graduate students will enroll in three college courses for a total of nine to ten credits per semester. The college year program follows the college semester-based schedule and there may be some work that needs to be completed during Lovell Academy breaks which do not coincide with the college break.
COURSE SELECTION & ADVISING
Students may select their own courses after meeting fall prerequisites, and must consult with their committed school to determine course transferability. Course advising for general education courses is provided for higher transferability.
