Girls Hockey Overview

Lovell Academy’s girls’ hockey program stands out for its elite coaching, skill development, and team culture, giving young athletes a chance to thrive both on and off the ice. Girls Program Director Caitrin Lonergan and Head Coach Bridget McCarthy bring decades of experience as former teammates and players at the NCAA D1, national, and professional levels. Their shared hockey upbringing makes them a particularly skillful coaching tandem, enabling them to mentor and prepare 14U, 16U and 19U players to compete at the highest levels, including the Chipotle-USA Hockey National Championships and international competitions as members of national team programs. Owner Tim Lovell shares our philosophy that “Hockey is a vehicle … to teach values of life, like teamwork, work ethic, commitment.” At Lovell Academy, girls not only build skills and confidence, but also experience the excitement and growth of a program designed to empower female athletes and prepare them for the next level.
