Lovell Academy Girls Win Gold & Bronze at U18 Worlds

From January 10-18 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, the world’s best young female hockey players came together for the IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship. It is one of the premier international events in women’s hockey, featuring elite athletes under the age of 18 who earn their spots through a highly competitive national team selection processes. With fast-paced, physical play and medal-round pressure, U18 Worlds is often a preview of future NCAA stars, pros, and Olympians.
Annabelle Lovell ’27 and Chyna Taylor ’27 brought home the GOLD with Team USA, delivering standout performances throughout the tournament. Annabelle was electric offensively, posting five points in six games and creating momentum every time she touched the puck. Chyna was a difference-maker on the blue line, finishing second in scoring among all defensemen and tying the IIHF record for most assists by a defenseman.
Tereza Gildainova ’27 and Ester Rosenbaumova ’28 helped Team Czechia earn the BRONZE. Tereza had a particularly strong tournament and was recognized as one of the top three players for Team Czechia, a huge honor that speaks to her impact and leadership.
