Graduation Requirements

Lovell Academy’s graduation requirements meet both the NCAA eligibility standards to attend a Division 1 college or university and the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education high school graduation requirements.

 

 

REQUIRED COURSEWORK

 

4 credits: English

4 credits: Math (Algebra 1 and higher)

3 credits: Science, 2 of which must be lab-based science

3 credits: History

2 credits: World Language, consecutive or completed through level 2

1 credit: Visual and Performing Arts

7 credits: Electives

Total: 24 credits (6 classes per year for 4 years)

 

1 credit is equivalent to 1 full year of study.

 

Trimesters are weighted.

Trimester 1: 40%

Trimester 2: 30%

Trimester 3: 30%

 

GPA is calculated at the end of the school year.

 

Honor Roll:

High Honors: end of year GPA of 3.8 or higher

Honors: end of year GPA of 3.5 or higher
