In-Person Learning

Lovell Academy’s academic philosophy resides in the firm belief that in-person learning is the best tool to provide a quality education.

Our student-athletes thrive by having daily interaction with educators and peers.

We recognize that what chiefly sets Lovell Academy apart is the excellence of its hockey program, and we believe that our academic program does, and should continue to, aspire to and achieve the same lofty standards.

In-person learning offers enhanced social interaction, a structured environment with fewer distractions, and opportunities for hands-on experience, which can lead to a stronger community and deeper engagement.

In-person learning enables group activities with peers and educators, hands-on art projects utilizing the facilities of our art studio, science experiments conducted in our well appointed laboratories and classrooms, the sharing of knowledge, skills and opinions with peers, creative work requiring teamwork and collaboration, the constant availability of teachers as mentors and facilitators in the learning process.

Importantly, recent research clearly demonstrates that the social, cultural and psychological advantages of rigorous in-person learning are irreplaceable. Our students at Lovell clearly understand that they are supported by a dedicated group of teachers, coaches and RAs who will always go above and beyond to help them achieve success in all of their academic and athletic endeavors.
