Tim Lovell
Owner & Coach
Tim brings extensive experience as both a player and leader in hockey operations and athlete development. He played at Norwood High School before being recruited to the University of Maine, earning multiple honors including All-Hockey East, All-New England, and USA National Team selections. Tim later completed his collegiate career at the University of Massachusetts Amherst before playing four years of professional hockey. In 2002, he founded Lovell Hockey, which he has grown into one of the largest amateur hockey programs in North America. As owner of Lovell Hockey and Lovell Academy, Tim oversees all on-ice programming, recruiting, and athlete development, while remaining actively involved on the ice year-round, working with players of all ages and levels across the Lovell programs.

Kevin Poulin
Hockey Director
Kevin brings years of experience as a player and coach, having completed his NCAA Division I hockey career at UMass Amherst after playing prep hockey. Following his playing career, he coached at both the prep school and collegiate levels. In 2004, Kevin joined Lovell Hockey alongside college teammate Tim Lovell, leading skill development for the program. In 2016, he became Director of the Boston Advantage Hockey Club, Lovell Hockey’s largest program. Kevin is excited to partner with the leadership team to provide student-athletes with high-level player development, rigorous academics, and comprehensive off-ice training and wellness support.
Caitrin Lonergan
Girls’ Program Director | Girls’ Head Coach
Caitrin Lonergan played Division I hockey at Clarkson University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts and MBA. She was a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award and earned ECAC First Team All-Star honors, ranking among the national leaders in scoring and short-handed goals. Before transferring to Clarkson, Caitrin played three seasons at Boston College, where she totaled 147 points (59 goals, 88 assists) in 112 games, set school records for points and assists in a season, and earned Hockey East All-Star and All-American honors, in addition to being a Patty Kazmaier Award finalist while leading the nation in assists. Internationally, she represented USA Hockey, winning gold and silver with the U-18 Women’s National Team, playing with the U-22 Select Team, and making her senior team debut at the 2018 Four Nations Cup.
Bridget McCarthy
Girls’ Associate Program Director | Head Coach
Bridget graduated from Boston College with a degree in Communication, Management & Leadership, where she played four years of Division I Hockey East hockey. During her time at BC, she competed in the Frozen Four, won three Beanpot titles, and was a two-time Hockey East Champion. Before college, Bridget played at Noble and Greenough School, recording 148 points in 166 games and helping the program win multiple NEPSAC and ISL championships, while serving as a team captain her senior year. She played both forward and defense throughout her career, giving her a strong understanding of the game on both sides of the puck. Bridget grew up playing for Lovell Hockey teams and training in private skills sessions, and is excited to return to the program that helped shape her development.
Maddie Traux
Girls’ Head Coach 19U
Maddie Truax played Division I hockey at the University of New Hampshire from 2017-2022, earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees while serving as team captain from 2020-2022. After college, she played professionally in the PHF with the Buffalo Beauts and spent two seasons playing pro in Switzerland, where she was named team captain for the 2024-2025 season.
As a coach, Maddie sets high standards and clear expectations while creating a competitive, supportive environment. She pushes players to work hard, stay accountable, and build confidence, with a focus on helping them perform under pressure and continue to grow both on and off the ice.
Colm Sheehan
Boys’ Head Coach 18U
Colm Sheehan has been part of Lovell Hockey for over 20 years, first as a player and skater, and now as a coach. He played college hockey at Fitchburg State University and has coached at the junior level in the NCDC and Premier leagues. In 2025, Colm coached Team Massachusetts at the Select 17 National Camp.
As a coach, he focuses on consistency, accountability, and long-term player development, creating an environment where athletes are supported, challenged, and confident as they continue to grow.
Joe Nagle
Boys’ Head Coach 16U
Joe Nagle played college hockey at the University of New Hampshire and Norwich University and has been coaching with Lovell Hockey since 2016 as a coach and skills coach. He grew up training and playing under Joe and Tim Lovell from ages 10–19, an experience that helped shape his approach to development.
As a coach, Joe focuses on skill work, consistency, and attention to detail, creating an environment where players build confidence and continue to improve.
Joe Smith
Boys’ Assistant Coach
Joe Smith played college hockey at Elmira College and Salem State, then went on to play professionally with the Columbus River Dragons in the FPHL. He grew up training at skills sessions run by Tim and Joe Lovell, which helped shape his foundation as both a player and a coach.
As a coach, Joe focuses on individual development, taking the time to understand each player’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals. Living in the dorms allows him to build strong relationships with his players and create an environment where personal growth leads to strong team chemistry.

Michael Keating
Director of Sports Performance
Michael is a founding partner of Synapse Physical Therapy and Impact Sports Performance, bringing 30+ years of experience in sports medicine, rehabilitation, and athletic performance. A Licensed Athletic Trainer (ATC) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), he has worked with athletes at every level, with a strong focus on hockey performance and long-term development. His background includes six seasons as an Athletic Trainer with the Chicago Blackhawks (NHL), along with experience supporting professional athletes across the NBA, MLB, MLS, and NFL. From 2003 to 2023, Michael served as Director of Medical Services for USA Rugby.
Michael also teaches anatomy and rehabilitation courses nationwide and holds degrees from Southern Illinois University and the University of Illinois.
