Former Lovell Academy Players Making Noise in Junior Hockey! 

This past weekend was an exciting one for some of our former Lovell Academy boys who continue their hockey journeys at the junior level. Denny Monaghan and Cooper Faughnan took the ice with the Victoria Grizzlies, while Matt Gilmore suited up for the Cranbrook Bucks.

The Victoria Grizzlies compete in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), one of the top Junior A leagues in North America known for developing future NCAA and professional talent. This weekend, the Grizzlies put on a thrilling performance, with Denny and Cooper playing key roles. The Grizzlies secured a hard‑fought overtime victory! Meanwhile, the Cranbrook Bucks, also part of the BCHL, are known for their fast, physical style of play and competitive spirit. Matt Gilmore brought his skill, energy, and determination to the lineup, continuing to grow and compete at a high level.

It’s always a point of pride to see Lovell Academy alumni carrying the Lovell Lion legacy forward in junior hockey. Congratulations to Denny, Cooper, and Matt for representing Lovell with heart and excellence on the ice!  We’ll be cheering you on all season long!
